After two years of endless paperwork, the sending and resending of documents, and a frustrating experience with another adoption agency, we finally brought our son, Andrew Gary, home from Moscow on September 5th. As adoptive parents we experienced both the good and the bad of the "adoption experience." Fortunately we came to know Lorien, and the super folks at Lighthouse, both here and in Russia.
After 17 months with our first adoption agency (during which we received one referral that we declined for medical reasons, and one referral that was retracted when a child was no longer available, as well as endless bi-weekly updates filled with false promises of healthy children) we decided to switch agencies. The contrast between the two agencies was immediate. We submitted our paperwork to Lighthouse in April 2009 and brought home our healthy, beautiful son 5 months later. Andrew is fun, active and smart. He loves to laugh and play games. He makes us complete.
Thank you Lorien for making this process so easy and straightforward, and thank you to all the Lighthouse families we’ve met over the internet, and to our local PA group. Your support will not be forgotten. We're proud that our son Andrew was the 100th child adopted through Lighthouse. Hope to see you all next year at a Lighthouse function!

Another success story! We switched to Lighthouse after struggles with another agencies and it was one of the best decisions of our lives. Everything went EXACTLY as stated...no surprises. Tatiana is an absolute joy. Her personality is as big as her smile. I can't believe what a perfect fit she and I are. Finding Lighthouse Adoptions was the best choice I made along the route.
