Raising money for the orphanages
When I adopted my son, Caden, in 2001, one of the hardest things for me to do was leave the other 80 children behind. If I only had room in my suitcase! I do have room in my heart, though, and that was the main driver in the foundation of Lighthouse Adoptions, to help those "left behind". Part of this was finding other families and helping more children come home. The other part is helping the orphanages with supplies for those children that cannot be adopted. I still stare at the little boy's photo on the database, the one I did not choose, the one I "left behind". Now 10 years old, and still in the orphanage, I feel an obligation to him, to send whatever help I can back to take care of the kids "left behind".
Our current fundrasing campaign is a direct donation! Our goal is to raise $2,500 in the next 3 weeks to send to 2 of our regions that need help and supplies. Last year we were able to purchase an EKG machine for an orphanage, that prevents them from transporting the kids to and from the hospital for check-ups! All donations need to be received by November 19, 2010 - so we have time to get money abroad before the holidays.
100% of your donation goes directly to the orphanage!!
